After 67 years of loyal service the Defender, the original Land Rover, retired in December 2015 when the last produced ‘Landy’ rolled off the production line at the Solihull car plant. The last milestone in the legendary history of the Defender was celebrated fittingly. The Farewell Party in July 2015, was the climax of the celebrations during the last year of production, and reviewed the history of this incomparable vehicle. The Emil Frey Classic Center in Safenwil as well as the adjacent area offered an appropriate location for this event and became Land Rover grounds for one day. At the Farewell Party various show acts, street artists, musical societies, an off-road circuit and the Defender Walk of Fame wowed about 2,000 participants.
WOEHRLE PIROLA in close cooperation with JAGUAR Land Rover Schweiz AG and the CIBOLINI AG, was responsible for the conception, the planning, and the implementation of the event. This included the organisation of the entertainment program including the selection and booking of artists, as well as the hospitality management and overall event coordination on-site. Moreover in close collaboration with JAGUAR Land Rover Schweiz AG the agency was also in charge of the overall communication work related to the “final year” of the Defender.
